FWIW, Cap'n Proto is a statically-typed version of this that has been around since 2013, and is actually used heavily in the implementation of Cloudflare Workers.

		Not on multi-tier web applications, though :) (but yeah, I was passingly familiar with E! when I designed the capability system of Opalang, so I definitely don't get full bragging rights)
