Do the private toll road operators also bribe mapping services? Strictly anecdotally speaking, strictly own experience. If in Toronto (Canada) you're driving east/west anywhere near the 407 (toll highway) the car GPS, which does not have an an "avoid tolls" checkbox that we can find, goes to ludicrous lengths to try to get you on the 407, so if you're unwilling to pay to play, you pretty much have to turn routing off and navigate freehand otherwise at every single intersection it'll say "recalculating" and then try to get you on the toll highway at the next crossroad. | ||

I have generally found that the GPS systems built into cars are pretty bad, so I stopped using them entirely and use my own instead. |
