Hey, I’m in the early stages of exploring what might one day become a new product. Some years ago I built PictoPlan, a simple single-user app for daily visual planning. It had quite a bit of success, but I eventually discontinued it. The new idea is a system where caregivers, parents, or institutions could centrally (and remotely) create and update daily visual schedules using icons/pictograms. Updates would sync automatically across devices. The vision: imagine a nursing home or residential institution with tablets in each room. The schedule would visually remind residents to go to the bathroom, take medication, eat breakfast, etc. I know there’s a single-user need for this type of tool (based on my previous PictoPlan experience), but that market was nearly impossible to monetize. What about multi-user or institutional contexts? – Do you think such a system could be valuable? – What pitfalls should I expect? – Have you seen similar attempts work or fail? Any feedback or thoughts would be very welcome. (There’s no product yet — just exploring the idea) | ||||||||
