The problem is you're thinking of projects in the sense of 0-100.

If you think of projects in the sense of 0-20, 20-40, 40-60, 60-80, 80-100 you realize AI is here to stay and is going to change everything.

I regularly do 80-100 chunks in a mature codebase. Literally every day at work.

I know it feels good to pretend this isn't happening but it's too dangerous to pretend.

I don't really know how to answer that, it's a highly fragmented legacy codebase that is responsible for many millions in revenue.

I do know that given my experiences though it's time to sound the alarms as many others have.

We're clearly in an emergency situation, it's frustrating to see this ignored due to various mechanisms some of which are huge geopolitical incentives to pump out propaganda that ai is safe and we shouldn't slam the brakes, which would cause the us to lose to China or vice versa.

Every nation state actor is trying tirelessly to attenuate panic but it's here, its really happening.
