They had a choice. Whether intentional or not, London, Canada, and the US were competing based on which country could offer the best lifestyle. Exactly. The tech pay disparity between US (and particularly in California) and everywhere else is so large that it’s not even close to being comparable. I relocated to Amsterdam from India. When I got to know about the salaries my peers were making in the same company but in the US I felt like a fool. Last year I had no job offer, this year recently I got offers from Headspace, Langchain, Coderabbit etc. It really depends on time too. Sometimes companies compete for you sometimes you compete for them |
