Every year iPhones hype seems to be coming down, but this year at least from the media it seems a lot of people are interested in buying new phone. Are you one of them?

This year I replaced the 3G vertical flip phone I got in 2012 with a 4G vertical flip phone that cost less than 100 CAD to own outright.

So, no.

No. Tim Cook can pry my iphone 13 mini from my cold, dead, tiny-trump-sized fingers.

No. iPhone 16 buyers from last year are still waiting on features promised to them when they purchased.

Plus, the placement of buttons on the 17 and the 16 are annoying in everyday use, and the extra RAM does not seem to keep applications in memory longer as iOS seemingly kills processes to save battery even when RAM is plentiful.

Apple Intelligence is not useful except for extremely limited text editing/review features. Unless your phone is broken or the PWM accessibility feature is actually useful on the 17, I can't think of reasons to upgrade.

I keep my iPhone until it is no longer usable (Fingerprint sensor on my iPhone 6 eventually stopped working, my iPhone X had the battery swell up and bend the case) when this happens and I need a new phone, My wife gets whatever the latest one is and I take her old one (yes, my current iPhone 11 pro is rose gold... I don't care, slap a case on it.)

I give 0 shits about my phone, I actually loathe that I need one at all.

No - My 13 Pro Max still works great. I would like to upgrade to USB-C charging but not at the price of an iPhone 17.

Waiting another year. The Pro is interesting because of how much more usable it is for software with the better thermals and more RAM, but even with the DMA the software just hasn't proven exciting yet.
