"When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things."

But, being humans, the "I put away" is always a bit aspirational. And part of being older and wiser (or at least aspiring to the latter) is more maturely reflecting upon your own younger years.
