Outside of the 24hr news bubble, I believe the reality is that there is a lot of common ground on these supposed hot button issues, for example on the guns issue alone there is broad support for universal background checks and an assault weapons ban: https://www.mprnews.org/story/2023/07/25/poll-majority--supp...
