FCC threatened Nexstar and all the others that run affiliate networks. Nexstar is trying to merge with Tegna. It's pretty clear how this was a very easy threat for the FCC to make. Without the affiliates ABC has no real audience outside of streaming, and late night shows have already been lagging with ratings. I hate it but really what other option did they have?
