Yeah I'll believe this when I see it. Most UK roads are significantly harder to drive on than anything in the US. That's why they always test these things in Milton Keynes. Also a lot of UK driving requires communication with other drivers (letting people out, etc.) in a way that US roads don't. I'm not sure how driverless cars can handle that. I really wish we could get them, because they're great. But I'd say we're talking 10 years behind the US simply because of the extra engineering challenge. |
