It's not that I don't agree with you, but this sentence is very strange. It can be used to "support" anything and everything at all.

		But it’s true, nonetheless. I’ve had it said to me, and it applies. If you are unable to comprehend that people will do something for altruistic or deeply personal reasons, then we live in entirely different worlds, and it’s a waste of time, trying to explain ourselves.
