Well no shit. We had already seen this rodeo 4 years ago. At that time, low interest rates papered over the loss of manufacturing jobs. And tariffs were only imposed on China. It's super simple - they aren't firing people because there's no demand for products or they fail the competition. It's just simply that the workers are being deported/self-deport by the million. What needs to be used as a yardstick, is employment to population ratio, 25-55. |
