Firefox Mobile + uBlock solves this.

Firefox + Tailscale + setting the DNS server to your AdGuard/PiHole is actually the better solution overall.

I use AdNauseum instead of plain uBlock as just an added layer of protection but it's rarely needed.

Can't help with ads in embedded web content, e.g. nytimes app.
