Unpopular opinion, but I find it wild how much people dislike CSS around here. I learned it over 25 years ago and loved it. I still use it regularly and appreciate the constant evolution of the language. Like every language, it has its quirks, but it gets the job done.

Same! I can find the syntax to be a bit too vague sometimes (I'll never memorize the weird order of values for the shortcut animation property) but I could say that about a lot of technology I really enjoy. For me, I feel comfortable enough with working around it's quirks to be effective making web UI. That's good enough for me!

Saying that, if it just doesn't grok in someone else's head, I can't fault them for that, but my opinion isn't really going to shift... regardless of the superlative-riddled doom-saying.
