since EAAC was mentioned, it is comical how Battlefield 6 open beta was already swarmed with cheaters, despite using a "new" version of the anticheat[1]. it gets very annoying when a kernel anticheat is just slapped on as a marketing point about how 'secure' the environment is.

so much can be done at the server side instead, but devs try their best to minimize costs at their end. such as GTA online using P2P connections, and only including partial protections to avoid getting IP addresses of other players in the session only a couple years back.

personally, like tour de france, i rather accept the reality that there will be cheaters regardless than to face issues like this. there are other annoyances like blocking virutalization, etc. which still makes it hard to main linux and run windows for select things.
