No, Spotlight has just been broken for several years. Thankfully Tahoe seems to have improved it a bit for me. | ||

Thanks, I wasn't looking for technical support. I did spend some time figuring this out (it was 'sudo mdutil -E /' that fixed it) but my point was: The experience of using macOS, which I pay a large amount of money for, wasn't better than a Linux distribution. | ||
