This article doesn’t really seem to have any insight at all into Apple or Amazon’s AI strategies. The result that “Apple and Amazon will miss AI” seems to be a premise of the argument, and the rest of the article doesn’t really seem to even corroborate that.

Are phones and AI on the opposite ends of some axis where success in one precludes success in the other? Does the use of AI reduce the use of compute and data? I have my own opinions on the topic, but beyond the eye-catching title this article didn’t inform one way or the other.
