And that report has this to say: "Our analysis reveals that GenAI-driven workforce reductions concentrate in functions historically treated as non-core business activities: customer support operations, administrative processing, and standardized development tasks. These roles exhibited vulnerability prior to AI implementation due to their outsourced status and process standardization. Executives were hesitant to reveal the scope of layoffs due to AI but it was between 5-20% of customer support operations and administrative processing work in these companies." They interviewed 52 people, and some of them said yes to "Have you reduced headcount due to GenAI?" - which may indicate that those people believe this to be true. | ||
