Are you saying LLMs can be great as therapist/friends?

To me that statement is insane.

I would say that they have certain qualities that I would like to see in real-life therapist (and real-life friends and partners). Those are a big appeal.

But no, I wouldn't say LLMs are great at being therapists/friends in general. That's part of the danger: a bad therapist can be much better than no therapist at all, or it can be much worse.

Not great. But they can help augmented the limited availability of those by simulating a friend to some degree.
