I retired this year, but I had a 35 year career in tech with a business degree.

I started working for a banking software company that had a college grad intake program. Their theory was that great programmers have characteristics that are often found in disciplines like business, music, philosophy, etc. They’d teach new hires COBOL in an OJT setting.

It worked out very well. I feel very lucky to have had this path.
