> as it’s legal and doesn’t harm anyone

Porn harms everyone involved.

That’s a personal opinion not a fact with any merit. And as a personal opinion has no bearing on what an adult should be allowed to spend their money on.

Tell that to the sex trafficking victims. Are you a Tate supporter?

In reality, the belief that porn is harmless has no evidentiary support.

> Tell that to the sex trafficking victims.

“Slavery hurts everyone involved” is true, but is not a reason to ban work that is not slavery. And that is just as true if you limit it to sex work as it is more generally.

How much poison has to be mixed into the egg salad before we avoid eating it?

If you really care: normalize sex work, regulate labor requirements, and support sex worker unions.

throwpoaster 16 hours ago | parent [-]

“Regulation will fix it” is a common liberal cognitive failure. Proof by example: the open drug markets in SF.

Your solution to normalize violence against women and girls is a moral failure.

Tadpole9181 14 hours ago | parent [-]

Oh, please.

I advocate for strong anti-trafficking and consent requirement laws and regulations on how porn sold in the US must be made and you bring up fictional "open drug markets" in SF?

I'm advocating for OSHA and labor unions for sex workers. Guess what, those work.

And you know what never has? Prohibition on alcohol, prohibition on marijuana, or forcing women to wear burkas for modesty. For their safety, of course.

I'm sorry, did I miss something? You and them said "furries" and now, suddenly, you're talking about porn.

Or are you immediately proving everyone critical of the payment processors right by showing that the "undesirables" will have their existence marked as sexual and then have access to the basic requirements of modern living shut down?

throwpoaster 15 hours ago | parent [-]

You perhaps missed the original article.

Is sex work a requirement of modern life? Should it be?

Tadpole9181 12 hours ago | parent [-]

Every single reply you have given is a non-sequitor or wildly misreads what someone has said.

Payment processors are a basic requirement of modern life.

throwpoaster 5 hours ago | parent | next [-]

All that’s being banned is sex work. If people obey the rules they still have recourse to payment processors.

There’s cash, bitcoin, etc., your argument is invalid.

Their username has "poast" in it. This should be the only breadcrumb you need to realize you're replying to a troll.

I am not trolling. There are gaping holes in these arguments.

I am a founder who cannot stand what weak discourse passes here.

Tadpole9181 10 hours ago | parent | prev [-]

To be fair, it's not uncommon to see accounts with usernames like "throwaway_84723" on here. The barrier to making accounts is low and the site invites a more "don't remember me" crowd.

some_furry 10 hours ago | parent [-]

Yeah, I just wanted to gently let you know you're wasting your time hoping for good faith discussion out of them is all.

If ideas can’t stand on their own outside the echo chamber then they are wrong.
