just use bitcoin. there is literally no downside. it is easier to implement than most payment providers that i know. moreover there are payment provider that work with bitcoin so you do not have to.

The downside is of course that you limit your potential clientele to those who have bitcoin, and that every transaction is publicly logged forever.

Horrible fees, long waiting times, forced centralized exchanges. That’s after they claimed cheap, fast, decentralized. Fk that scam, I’ll stay with regular money.

so you are quite wrong on fees

No protection against theft, insane energy consumption.

nicman23 a day ago | parent [-]

you mean the same protection as cash and a fraction of the energy cost of all banking / visa / mastercard with an economic incentive to use renewables.

dont forget protection against theft inserts someone else to each transaction

That's an obvious flat out lie, crypto consumes much more power than the banking system, because of course it does. It literally relies on proof of work, through arrays of GPUs pointlessly crunching numbers. And that's just to handle a fraction of the number of transactions the banking system does.

It's estimated that Bitcoin alone uses up as much power as an entire country: https://www.polytechnique-insights.com/en/columns/energy/bit...

And how many people use crypto again?

As for the thievery part: https://www.web3isgoinggreat.com

Unless you live in China, Algeria, Egypt, Morocco, Bolivia, Bangladesh, Nepal, Iraq...

they first have to prove you have bitcoin.
