This is hard in big teams/departments because people end up getting pinged constantly to unblock random stuff. They want to batch up and schedule things. People work on 2-3 things in parallel anyway so they can switch tasks when blocked, like Javascript. So 24hr can be the sweet spot, but as I said in another comment, I've seen the mistake of picking 7d instead!
