That makes two reasons to avoid .us domains, the other being that you're not allowed to redact the WHOIS information on those.

		This shafted me hard when I registered the domain I used to research and write a company blog post (https://www.guidepointsecurity.com/blog/tunnel-vision-cloudf...). I’ll never deal with a .us domain again, even if it means missing out on a good text string.
