Why does HN lie? There are comments in this thread saying they were posted "18 hours ago" (eg from giraffe_lady), but I am positive I read these comments 3 days ago on the same thread. | ||

Might be some thread merging, dang sometimes does it, or might be a newish automatic feature I haven't heard about. Oddly, if you search the story name it says it was actually posted 3 days ago, but directs tot his thread: https://hn.algolia.com/?dateRange=all&page=0&prefix=false&qu... it's a boost feature, which basically resets the clock for a story (and since the ranking algorithm is influenced by newness a lot, it pushes it back up) | ||
