Kudos to the author for writing an academic thesis on distortion in music, but it sure reads like an academic thesis rather than a statement about art. Yeah, it's a bummer the clearly defined statement is so overly detailed and abstracted. It's way easier to listen to some dude talk about going to a lot of Stooges shows barefoot and vaguely talk about some random vinyl being 'angry'. Much easier and satisfyingly agreeable. |
