Apple killed TouchID when they got rid of the home button, which is a shame, as with TouchID my phone was unlocked by the time it was out of my pocket. Modern flagship Android phones are putting expensive ultrasonic biometrics under the screen. What have budget phones been doing? Just putting it in the power button. It works great; my thumb automatically goes for the power button anyways. It's cheap, efficient, and instant, using technology we've had for well over a decade now.

Decent smartphones are becoming far too expensive, please just put the biometrics in the power button.
