This will certainly have at least some positive outcomes. Image boards like 8chan might become more popular with kids. The same goes for smaller forums. | ||||||||

Every platform already requires a phone number because it's effectively illegal to have an anonymous account. Now they will require ID card uploads too. Actually it gets worse: there are companies that video-call you and require you to move your card around and wave your hand and show your face on camera. This will be required to get a social media account. BTW I'm 2 years old, on Hacker News, and Australian. (Or am I? Probably not, but how does dang know he's not about to get fined 50 million dollars if he doesn't ban me immediately?) | ||||||||
