Regrettably, Texas public universities have destroyed most of the original documents about slavery they had from the era of slavery. Almost every document freeing slaves was destroyed.

They destroyed these irreplaceable historical documents because those documents offended their modern sensibilities.

I believe history should be preserved. Even lying propaganda has value to historians.
