I'd say "ouch!" because I'm a Denon fan which has a much more open API than Sonos for those who "think different" https://support.denon.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/6953/~/heo... I was thinking about the danger of these acquisitions and how they are often the beginning of the end for companies involved, making them more and not less vulnerable to the market since they are usually loaded up with debt that can magically transform a viable business into a non-viable business. I just saw a video by an anime fan who's worried about Sony buying Kadokawa which owns a bunch of anime studios: somehow they're not going to shut down the worst anime studios, they are going to shut down the best. Microsoft, for instance, shut down a studio that made a smash hit: https://www.reddit.com/r/pcgaming/comments/1cpd4ys/president... One thing is for sure is that we are going to get lots of games that were stale five years ago on Game Pass. You'd almost thing Microsoft was on a rampage to shut down the game industry, so 20 years from now kids are playing outdoors because games aren't fun anymore. |
